El Gant, Ras Kass and J57 — collectively known as Jamo Gang — have unleashed a video for “The First Time” featuring vocal assistance from Slug and production from the incomparable DJ Premier.
The visual follows the May 8 release of the trio’s debut album Walking With Lions. Serving as J57’s directorial debut, the song (and video) is the first time fans were able to get Slug — Rhymesayers Entertainment co-founder and one-half of the acclaimed duo Atmosphere — and Premier together on one track.
Upon its release, Walking With Lions landed at No. 18 on iTunes Top 20 albums chart.
“We got top tier assists from DJ Premier, Slug, Sid Wilson, Slaine and Sick Jacken,” Ras Kass told DX earlier this month. “There’s nothing generic here. Nothing contrived. Walking With Lions is avant-garde Hip Hop, and I hope people take the time to give it a listen.”
