Kendrick Lamar & Lil Nas X Lead MTV Video Music Awards 2022 Nominations

Nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards 2022 have been announced, including Kendrick Lamar, Lil Nas X, Baby Keem, Lizzo, Latto and more.

We’re just one month away from the MTV Video Music Awards 2022 and the full slate of nominees are here. On Tuesday (July 26), the nominations were revealed, with Kendrick Lamar and Lil Nas X leading the pack with seven nods each, followed by Doja Cat with six nominations with Drake and The Weeknd each boasting five.

Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow received multiple nominations for their 2021 hit “Industry Baby,” including the categories Video of the Year, Best Direction and Best Choreography, with each artist also receiving a nomination for Artist of the Year. Lamar, who was nominated for the first time since 2018, has received nods for Best Hip-Hop (“N95”), Best Cinematography (“N95”),  Best Visual Effects (“The Heart Part 5”) and more.

The awards ceremony will also have a full cast of first-time nominees, including Baby Keem, Tems, Muni Long and JID. Fans can vote for their favorite artists on vote.mtv.com until Friday, August 19, while voting for the Best New Artist category will remain active until Sunday, August 28, the day of the telecast.

The MTV Video Music Awards 2022 will air live from New Jersey’s Prudential Center at 8 PM EST on August 28. Read the full list of nominations below.
