Both Earth Wind & Fire and The Isley Brothers have left an irreversible mark on the entertainment industry due to their extensive contributions to music over the years.
On Sunday night, fans were debating who would win a Verzuz battle between Earth, Wind & Fire and the Isley Brothers on Twitter.

There’s no doubt about it, a hypothetical match-up between the two groups would be downright historic. What they introduced to the entertainment industry will never be forgotten and thatâs why fans tweeted for hours about who would be crowned a winner.
Earlier this year, Patti Labelle and Gladys Knight showcased their greatest hits in their own Verzuz. This evening was a balm for the year that we all have been dealing with.Â
In their arsenal Earth, Wind & Fire is packing the cookout anthem âSeptember,â âReasons,â a soul staple, and two funky classics âLetâs Grooveâ and âBoogie Wonderland.â One track that could also come up is âAfter The Love Is Gone,â another essential listen. Each of these tracks explores the range of the dynamic group who explored jazz, funk, disco and pop during their reign. A few current bandmates include Philip Bailey, Verdine White, John Paris and Ralph Johnson (others have either passed or retired).

This would be a good one! Just imagine Earth, Wind, and Fire play Reasons, Loveâs Holiday, and Devotion and then The Isley Brothers play Between the Sheets, Choosey Lover, and Caravan of Love ????????? pic.twitter.com/HvVhiEwB3s

The Isley Brothers, originally from Ohio have quite a few songs that also stand the test of time. A few of these are: âBetween The Sheets,â âFootsteps in the Dark,â âThat Lady,â âFor The Love of You,â âItâs Your Thingâ among many others. In case youâre into numbers, the trio accumulated sixty hit singles during their career. The group was originally made up of gospel-trained brothers OâKelly Isley Jr., Rudolph Isley, and Ronald Isley. Ronald who is affectionately known as Mr. Biggs and Rudolph are the only remaining active members.Â

Weâd be remiss if we didnât mention that both groups contributed to the energetic sounds found in jazz, soul, R&B, and even hip-hop today. If this ever actually happens, weâre sure Twitter would lose it. We’re hoping Swizz Beats and Timbaland are taking notice of the tweets that sprang up last night.
