The City Girls have finally released “Twerkulator,” a previously leaked track that didn’t make the cut for their album City On Lock.

The City Girls have dropped their newest single “Twerkulator.”

The track arrives just in time to be a contender for the hottest song of the summer. Previously leaked, the single has a je ne sais quoi that is a bit wacky, but we think it works.

If you care about this type of thing, “Twerkulator” has been trending heavily on TikTok for the past few months. 1.2 million videos have been created with a snippet of the track.

We imagine that day partygoers and those who love kickbacks will relish in the moments they experience when a DJ or a friend drops this at the bar or someone’s apartment. As usual, JT takes control and unleashes her braggadocious bars. “Slim thick, petite wit it.” She adds, “Lil’ bitch, I’on want your man, but these rich niggas throwin’ paper/Now it’s time for the Twerkulator.”

Yung Miami backs JT up and manages to keep her energy quite high. She brings up Tootsies (you haven’t lived if you’ve never been by the way). “Fuck all that cute shit, break it down for that loot, bitch.” She wraps her verse with, “That paper straight? I’ma twerkulate/At the after hours, we workin’ late/Bad bitches on the paper chase.”

For all the City Girls fans that were confused as to why the track didn’t appear on City On Lock, Yung Miami tweeted back in March that the sample didn’t get cleared. The 1982 track “Planet Rock” by Afrika Bambaataa and The Soulsonic Force is centered on this track so we’re happy clearance issues were handled.

Some might venture to ask what’s next for the duo? We don’t know, but we’re just glad we’re living in their world.
