Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40 & Too $hort — Aka Mount Westmore — Drop Their First Video
The debut single from Mount Westmore has officially been released.
Four of the greatest rappers of all time are officially in a group together. Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40, and Too $hort are Mount Westmore and they are (hopefully) getting ready to drop their debut album at the end of the year. (The album was supposed to come out earlier in the year but was delayed.)
On Wednesday, October 20th — Snoop’s birthday — they released their first single, “Big Subwoofer,” a good ol fashioned funky west coast jam. The group actually performed the song for the first time back in April, during Triller’s 2021 pay-per-view Fight Club.
The video is wild — it features the the four legendary rappers heading to another planet on a spaceship. (Snoop Dogg is the pilot, while Ice Cube is the shooter.) The video was directed by Jesse Wellens and Sam Macaroni features everything from blue aliens to an appearance from the Dogecoin mascot Shiba Inu.
“Big Subwoofer ” is the first single from Snoop Dogg Presents THE ALGORITHM, the first project from the legendary rapper since he joined Def Jam as the label’s Executive Creative and Strategic Consultant.
THE ALGORITHM seems like it’s going to be cool because it’s going to feature a mix of old and new rappers on the label.
In a press release, Snoop talked about the album, saying:
“There’s so much talent on this record… so many styles of music, it breaks the algorithm. Right now, the algorithm is telling us you have to rap this way, you have to sound this way, but they’re not telling you how it’s supposed to feel. My algorithm is going to give you a feeling, not a sound.”
Check out the “Big Subwoofer” video below. And look out for more Mount Westmore. Too Short has sad the four recorded around 50 songs so far.
