Season two of MC Serch’s Did I Ever Tell You The One About podcast is a visceral exploration of the mythical MF DOOM origin story.

As promised and at only two episodes deep, MC Serch‘s podcast is delivering one of the most thorough dives into the life MF DOOM we’ve seen or heard to date.

Premiering with a double-feature on Monday, the second season of 3rd Bass rapper’s Did I Ever Tell You The One About show is off to a strong start, uncovering new and overlooked plot points in a mythical rap origin story. In the first episode of the podcast, Serch viscerally explores DOOM’s uncommon upbringing with the late rapper’s siblings, Dimbaza and Tanjie, bouncing from England to Mt. Vernon to eventually setting up shop in Long Beach, NY. In the second episode, Serch delves into the history of the Get Yours Posse, DOOM’s early breakdancing and tagging careers, and the rapper’s home life, which was where GYP and KMD formed. The episode also looks into the rapper’s early relationships with late little brother, Subroc, and former groupmate, Onyx, who shared the story of how getting chased by a very agro neighborhood dog led to him first bonding with DOOM and Sub.

The episodes land ahead of the one-year anniversary of the rapper’s death on October 31st. To celebrate his life and legacy, the MF DOOM estate has declared Halloween to be “DOOMSDAY,” holding a fundraiser for the rapper’s family in San Francisco with local vendors and artists, all selling DOOM-inspired artworks. 50-perfect of all sales will be donated to DOOM’s estate, which is being run by his wife, Jasmine.

Stream the first two episodes of the new season of MC Serch’s Did I Ever Tell You The One About…MF DOOM below. Hold tight for new episodes to land every Monday.
