Los Angeles, CA – Maxo Kream’s brother, Money Madu, was shot and killed in the Woodland Hills suburb of Los Angeles on Monday (March 9). According to KTLA 5, officers responded to a shooting call inside an apartment around 4:25 a.m. local time.

When police arrived, they found the 27-year-old victim on the floor with a gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene.

Maxo quickly took to Instagram to share his grief, confirming the report in the process.

“No words or caption can explain wat I’m goin thru … I never expected this or ever lost somebody this close to me,” he wrote alongside a photo of his brother. “I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories.

“You don’t get over it, you just get through it. You don’t get by it, because you can’t get around it. It doesn’t ‘get better’; it just gets different. We must embrace our pain and burn it as a fuel for our journey. Sorrow is a fruit. God does not make it grow on limbs too weak to bear it. Long Live @mmadu_kream.”

Witnesses at the apartment told police Maxo’s brother went outside before he returned yelling, “I was shot.” His roommate then called 911. Police have no information about a possible shooter or shooters. They’ve been canvasing the area in search of surveillance video and additional evidence.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call (818) 374-1925.
