Killer Mike was arrested in February at the Grammys, on the same night his LP Michael won Best Rap Album and his cut Scientists and Engineers won Best Rap Performance, as well as Best Rap Song.
He got into an altercation with one of the security guards at L.A.’s Crypto Arena, where the Grammys were being held, and was placed in handcuffs.
But it turns out that prosecutors won’t be filing charges against the Atlanta rapper after he agreed to do community service with a non-profit of his choosing while at a city attorney hearing.
However, Mike will need to stay out of trouble for a year, or prosecutors said they’ll reopen the case. He spoke to TMZ about the arrest soon after, saying the altercation was over a door.
“As you can imagine, there was a lot going on, and there was some confusion around which door my team and I should enter,” Mike explained at the time. “We experienced an overzealous security guard.”
