New York, NY – A 45-year-old man who worked in the costume and wardrobe department on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Josh Wallwork, has died after suffering complications from the coronavirus.

According to MSN, the news was first announced on Thursday (March 26) by Wallwork’s friend and then SVU showrunner Warren Leight.

“Very sad news today,” Leight tweeted. “One of our costumers, and a beautiful man, Josh Wallwork, passed away from complications of Covid-19. Cast and crew send love and prayers to his family and friends. We are heartbroken.”

Ice-T, who has played Detective Tutuola on the show for over 20 years, retweeted Leight’s initial post and insinuated people need to take the coronavirus pandemic much more seriously.

“I worked with Josh every day … MAN!” he wrote. “Pay attention people. #SVU.”

SVU was recently renewed for three more seasons. Ice-T’s co-star, Mariska Hargitay, also paid tribute to Wallwork, remembering his smile.

“Heartbroken we are,” she wrote. “I don’t think I ever saw him without a smile on his face. He brought love and kindness everywhere he went. Always ready with the joke. The SVU Corrender will never be the same. We will miss you Josh. #ForeverInOurHearts.”
