Bay Area-born, Los Angeles-based rapper Symba is gearing up for the release of his new mixtape, Don’t Run From R.A.P.

The Atlantic Records signee will drop the project on December 4, following a recent run that’s put him on the radar of Snoop Dogg, LeBron James and more. In a statement, Symba broke down the acronym in the tape’s title and what it represents.

“To me, R.A.P. stands for ‘Responsibilities and Principles’,” he said. “Don’t run from yourself and who you truly are. I ran away from rap before, but I never will again. When people listen to me, I want them to find themselves and embrace who they are. Be yourself. I’m speaking for the people.”

After hitting Los Angeles radio station Power 106 to freestyle for the LA Leakers and promote the project on Monday (November 16), his bars prompted a major response from James, naming the burgeoning star as next up.

“Man o man!!!!” James wrote. “Symba up next!”

Symba has also gotten love from 2 Chainz as well, who appears alongside him in the recently-released video for their collab “Big Homie.” And Snoop has been showing him love too, posting Symba on his Instagram page last month – which the rapper said changed his life.

Don’t Run From R.A.P. will serve as Symba’s Atlantic Records debut after signing with the imprint in March.

“I plan on becoming a household name in every way,” he told Billboard at the time of his signing. “By being consistent with my music, consistent with my message, and touching the people. You can never go wrong when you create good music. But what’s more important than the music, to me, is making sure the people who are listening know that I’m just like them. I have the same ups and downs in life as everyone else on this planet. I am not any different, I just chose rap as my diary.”
