The Verzuz showdown has been postponed.

Ashanti has revealed that she’s tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of tonight’s Verzuz battle with Keyshia Cole.

The singer took to Instagram to break the news. “Hey y’all I can’t believe I’m saying this but I tested positive for COVID-19,” Ashanti wrote. “I’m ok and not in any pain,” she added before claiming that she was still willing to do the livestream from her home, regardless. However, it appears tonight’s Verzuz showdown has been postponed in response to protect the personnel and keep with the platform’s new format of having both performers in the same room.

The singer jumped on Instagram Live to face her fans, in which both of the platform’s creators (Timbaland and Swizz Beatz,) wished her a speedy recovery.

According to a post from the platform’s Twitter account (see below,) the battle has been rescheduled for January 9th, 2021. Until then, you can grab some of the merchandise that was created for their Verzuz battle via The NTWRK.

Hold tight for updates on Ashanti’s health and the status of her Verzuz matchup in the weeks ahead.
