Nas releases a visual for “Wave Gods” featuring A$AP Rocky and DJ Premier, from his 9-track collaborative project with Hit-Boy, Magic.

After sharing his latest Hit-Boy-assisted project Magic on Christmas Eve, Nas has unwrapped another gift for fans. On Tuesday, the rapper released a visual for new single “Wave Gods” featuring A$AP Rocky and DJ Premier.

Shot in New York and directed by Rocky, Hidji of AWGE, and Spike Jordan, the video is mostly fast-paced, following Nas and Rocky in bleak settings, from being houseless to hospitalized. While Hit-Boy and DJ Premier mainly watch overhead, the clip ends with Nas and Rocky joining each other for an overhead shot.

While fans anticipate a new album following 2017’s Testing, Rocky announced earlier this month that his creative agency AWGE is teaming up with Mercedes-Benz for a capsule with PacSun, per Highsnobiety.

Magic is the third consecutive project between Nas and Hit-Boy, who released King’s Disease II in August. Like their 2020 epic King’s Disease which won Best Rap Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards, King’s Disease II is nominated in the same category this year.

Following King’s Disease II, last August, Nas spoke on The Ebro Show about his partnership with Hit-Boy while teasing their third project.

“He’s like my Quincy [Jones], you know what I mean?… So I feel like the next thing I do, if I was to work with Hit-Boy on the next thing I do, I think that we might do something that is going to be magical. I think what we have is magic.”

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards will air live from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3rd. The televised ceremony will air live on CBS at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET, along with streaming live and on-demand on Paramount+.
