Questlove sent a shout out to Kendrick Lamar for paying homage to The Roots, and TDE’s Punch Henderson basically called the famed drummer a hypocrite.

Kendrick’s video for his new song “Squabble Up” recreates the visuals for The Roots’ 1999 cut “The Next Movement,” so Quest thanked him.

“I wanna thank @kendricklamar for acknowledging something I thought no one saw or cared about. Feeling seen is a great feeling and I don’t take it for granted,” wrote Quest in part.

Someone retweeted that message and brought up The Roots member criticizing Kendrick and Drake for their battle.

“This wasn’t about skill,” wrote Quest in May. “This was a wrestling match level mudslinging and takedown by any means necessary — women & children (& actual facts) be damned.”

“Wasn’t Issac Hayes son hating too during the beef?”another person tweeted when Quest’s message was reposted.

Someone dressed as Hayes was in the “Squabble Up” video as well, and the singer’s estate thanked Kendrick.

“Boff of’em,” Punch wrote back. “We seen them.”

Should Questlove be worried?
