NLE Choppa‘s new album will arrive on his 18th birthday.

Taking to social media on Wednesday (October 14), the newly-awakened rapper announced his new 11-song effort From Dark To Light drops on November 1. This will serve as the first effort since Choppa announced a departure from songs promoting violence in favor of a more positive message.

The Memphis native began documenting his spiritual journey over the summer, and explained to HipHopDX in August how meditation helped him find himself again after starting to lose track with the whirlwind that surrounds the ascension into superstardom.

“Through the process of music, stress, all this stuff going on, a lot of shit going on, I kind of lost it,” Choppa said. “I started meditating. I found myself again right when all my blessings about to come in, it set me back right on what’s important.”

Since then, he’s gone deep into his journey and has continued to document the process on social media. In addition to attempting to use his energy to manipulate fire and water, Choppa has also been vocal about issues he feels needs to be addressed to keep the community spiritually aligned – including not eating the value meal Travis Scott partnered with McDonald’s on in September.

“Eat healthy man that food y’all eating can fucc with your mental too,” Choppa told fans on social media at the time. “Put them Travis Scott burgers down go to the farmers market go eat some vegetables. Eat plant-based foods.”

He quickly caught flack for his statements and was accused of hating on Scott, but he clarified his statements to stress the importance of health and why it has nothing to do with La Flame.

“These people say I sound like a hater because I said somebody stopped being some shit that’s not good for them,” he said. “If anything, I sound like a supporter. Stop eating McDonald’s, period. That shit is fucked up. That shit ain’t even real food, bruh. You can go on YouTube, look up what you’re eating, real talk. They done found human meat in these foods… meat grinder, bro. I’m just saying fool, I care about y’all. I ain’t even mad, I ain’t pressed, I’m just clearing shit up. I’ve never been no hater bro, I don’t hate on no man.”

From Dark To Light will serve as Choppa’s sophomore album, following his debut Top Shotta, released in August. The 20-track project featured appearances from Mulatto, Roddy Ricch, Chief Keef and Lil Baby, and premiered at No. 10 on the Billboard 200. Revisit the album below.
