Nearly 20 Years After Writing “I’m Loving it” Pusha-T Drops Song Dissing McDonald’s
Pusha-T has teamed up with Arby’s to drop a song dissing McDonald’s and its Filet-O-Fish sandwich.
Pusha-T has some serious… beef.
The rapper has teamed up with Arby’s to drop a short track dissing McDonald’s and one of its most popular sandwiches — the Filet-O-Fish.
The rap is in support of Arby’s Crispy Fish sandwich. On the track Pusha raps:
“I’m the reason the whole world love it/Now I gotta crush it/Filet-O-Fish is shit and you should be disgusted/How dare you sell a square fish asking us to trust it/A half slice of cheese, Mickey D’s on a budget?
Arby’s Crispy Fish is simply it/With lines ’round the corner we might need a guest list/Exit stage left the sandwiches taste fresh/A little cube of fish from a clown is basic.”

In true Pusha style, the rapper caps the verse with a veiled cocaine reference.
Pusha-T has a long history with McDonald’s. In 2003, he wrote one of McDonald’s most famous jingles, “I’m Loving it.” However, the rapper doesn’t see any publishing from it. In a 2018 interview with Drink Champs he talked about the deal, saying he “took a super L.” He said:
“Just upfront, no publishing. Shoutout to [former music executive] Steve Stoute, he gave me the check and I was like ‘Ahhh great’… I want artists to know that part. Keep your publishing. That check will be nice, but ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ been running for how long now? I did This in ’03. Who knows what it would have been.”
We’re sure Pusha has learned from his mistakes.
Interestingly enough, there has been a rise of rappers doing collaborations with various fast food franchise. Travis Scott and Saweetie had collaborations with McDonald’s. Megan Thee Stallion has her own sauce at Popeyes, while Jack Harlow teamed up with KFC. Oh, and Nelly did something with Burger King.
Looks like Mary J. Blige was ahead of the curve once again.
