MIKE Announces New Album ‘Disco!’ with Tranquil New Single “Evil Eye”
Disco! is set to arrive on June 21st, exactly one year since the release of the rapper’s 2020 album, weight of the world.
After a year of mostly instrumental output, MIKE is back to the bars. The Bronx rapper has announced his next album will arrive this summer.
Titled, Disco!, the new album is set to drop on June 21st, exactly a year since the release of his widely-acclaimed 2020 project, weight of the world. To commence the Disco! campaign, MIKE has shared the album’s lead single “Evil Eye,” a declarative, yet tranquil, outing over a pitched-up and looped segment of an 80s r&b ballad. The rapper has also shared a split-screen visual for the track filmed and edited by frequent collaborator Ryosuke Tanzawa (who helmed recent videos for Navy Blue, KeiyaA, Wiki, and more.)
Disco! will mark the MIKEs second project of the year, following the Bandcamp-exclusive beat tape, for ur own good, which was released in February under the rapper’s production moniker, dj blackpower. MIKE also contributed guest verses to a number of recent projects from JWords, Black Noi$e, Goya Gumbani, Jodi.10k, Camden Malik, and more.
