Michelle, Deem Spencer, and the booyah! kids team up to remix the summer single.

This past July, New York City collective Michelle dropped their single “SUNRISE.” The track was remixed by the booyah! kids shortly afterward. On Thursday, the group released a new remix of the track, this time around featuring a guest verse from Queens MC Deem Spencer.

“Today we are sending our final iteration of SUNRISE to you. This last go at the song is especially rewarding to share,” the group said on their official Instagram account. “As we hold the people who created this rework close to us. The first shows we’ve ever played have been with the booyah! kids, and Deem Spencer opened for us at our first headline show this past winter. We’ve been listening to their music all the while, and it’s beautiful to hear them listen and transform our work today. Thank you for responding to SUNRISE, eyes peeled ears open for something new soon.”

“SUNRISE” was the group’s first single since their 2018 debut album HEATWAVE. The group is made up of vocalists Jamee Lockard, Layla Ku, Sofia D’Angelo and Emma Lee. Julian Kaufman and Charlie Kilgore provide production and arrangements. Emma “Bug” Fernandez directed the video for the live session of the “SUNRISE” remix.

Deem Spencer appears for the first time since the release of his third full-length project, Pretty Face.

Stream “SUNRISE” (Remix) as well as Deem Spencer’s Pretty Face on all major digital streaming platforms. Stay tuned for further releases.
