Ahead of her Super Bowl LVII halftime show performance, Rihanna has recorded two songs for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.

New music from Rihanna will reportedly be on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. According to Hits Daily Double, the Bajan singer has recorded two songs for the forthcoming project, which will be an “inspired by” concept album. If Rihanna appears on the songs solo, the music will be her latest solo material since her 2016 album Anti. The music also follows rumors from 2020 that the singer, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, was cast in the Black Panther sequel.

The Wakanda Forever-inspired album will follow a similar curation as Kendrick Lamar, who led the 2018 Black Panther soundtrack with appearances from SZA, Vince Staples, Future, Jay Rock, Jorja Smith, Khalid, Swae Lee and more. In July, a 3-track EP titled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Prologue was released, with music from Tems, Amaarae and Santa Fe Klan.

Rihanna is set to headline the Super Bowl LVII halftime performance, last telling TMZ that she’s “nervous” but looking forward to her comeback performance.  Though unconfirmed, it has recently been reported that the singer will also embark on a stadium tour in 2023. Rihanna last went on tour from March to November 2016 during her Anti World Tour, with support from Travis Scott, Big Sean and DJ Mustard.

On Wednesday November 9, Fenty will debut her Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 4 on Amazon Prime Video, the new lingerie line being an “homage to self-expression and personal empowerment.”
