Kid Cudi has stepped in as Rolling Loud Miami co-headliner after Ye dropped out of performing on night one of the weekend-long festival.

The artist formerly known as Kanye West is no longer co-headlining Rolling Loud Miami with Future and Kendrick Lamar. On Sunday (July 17), festival co-founders Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler announcing in a joint statement that Kid Cudi would be replacing Ye.

“We spent months working with him and his team on the performance. Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer be performing,” the two stated. “This is the first time a headliner has ever pulled off our show and though we don’t take it lightly, we wish him the best. We look forward to welcoming Kid Cudi as a headliner in Miami and we can’t wait to see what he has in store.”

In Instagram comments under the announcement, Cherif wrote that Travis Scott was another contender as Ye’s replacement, but Hard Rock Stadium declined the option.

From July 22-24, the show will go on, with performances from Playboi Carti, Lil Durk, City Girls, Lil Baby, Baby Keem, Babyface Ray, Latto and others.

The announcement of Cudi replacing Ye comes months after the Man on the Moon III rapper proclaimed he and Ye were “not cool” after appearing together on Pusha T song “Rock n Roll” from It’s Almost Dry.

“I did this song a year ago when I was still cool w Kanye. I am not cool w that man,” Cudi wrote on Twitter at the time. “He’s not my friend and I only cleared the song for Pusha cuz thats my guy. This is the last song u will hear me on w Kanye.”

On Instagram, Ye said that Cudi would not be on Donda 2 because “he’s friends with you-know-who,” alluding to Pete Davidson.

Cudi responded in the comments, saying, “Too bad I don’t wanna be on ur album u f**king dinosaur hahaha. Everyone knows I’ve been the best thing about ur albums since I met u. Ima pray u for [sic] brother.”

“We talked weeks ago about this. You’re whack for flipping the script and posting this lie just for a look on the internet. You ain’t no friend. BYE,” Cudi added on Twitter. “God opens the door so the wrong people can exit ur life.”
