With a week until the Netflix premiere of Kanye ‘Ye’ West documentary Jeen-Yuhs, Ye says he needs Drake to narrate the film.

Netflix’s upcoming three-part documentary film, Jeen-Yuhs, will chronicle over 20 years of the music in the life of Ye, aka Kanye West. Act I of Jeen-Yuhs will also premiere on February 10th nationwide theatrical release through Iconic Events ahead of the Netflix drop on February 16th.

Although Jeen-Yuhs is inching closer to it’s release date, it’s unclear what Ye thinks of the film. (Or if he’s even seen it.) But there are some hints, with the latest being him calling for narration from Drake. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Ye posted a screenshot of a text conversation with an unknown person. It’s likely that the text recipient was someone associated with the Coodie & Chike-directed film. (Interestingly enough, Drake liked the post.)

“I need Drake to do the narration,” Ye’s text said.

The post comes less than a month after Kanye West also posted on Instagram that he needed final approval of the film.

“I’m going to say this kindly for the last time. I must get final edit and approval on this doc before it releases on Netflix,” he wrote. “Open the edit room immediately so I can be in charge of my own image. Thank you in advance.”

Jeen-Yuhs is directed by longtime Ye collaborators Coodie Simmons and Chike Ozah who worked with Ye on his music videos for “Jesus Walks” and “Through the Wire”. Last month Coodie & Chike spoke with Variety about the final cut of the film.

“I said, ‘Dude, you have to trust me.’ And he did, 100%,” Simmons said. “Mind you, when his team and the business-people have gotten involved, they’re of course going to have their say. But I needed to tell this story. It’s not about making Kanye likable or not. The footage doesn’t lie. What makes the film special is that it’s not something definitive; it’s his journey through my vision.”

We’ll stay turned for the next saga of the Jeen-Yuhs release, but Ye fans can look forward to hearing DONDA 2, which is set to release on February 22nd.
