While countless rappers have expressed their somber over the loss of Pop Smoke social media, Jay Gwuapo has taken the tributes a tad bit further with the release of his “Long Live The Woo” single.

Over a ruminative, piano-driven melody, East New York native pours his soul into the Auto-Tune with lyrics like, “I could bring up shit they never knew but this shit more than rap/Tryna tell me focus on myself I want my blood back/I swear that you don’t know the pain of losin’ somebody close/This shit go deeper than the gang, I swear that nobody knows.”

As far as “nobody knowing” anything, investigators reportedly have no suspects in custody for the 20-year-old’s February 19 murder.

According to TMZ, his family has made arrangements for his remains to be flown back to Brooklyn where they will hold a private funeral.

As for Jay Gwuapo, his debut project is slated to drop on RCA later this year.

“I’ve come along, and it’s about to go crazy. I want everyone to know that I’m here,” he says of his immediate future. “Everything that I’m saying you can relate to—that they wanna live and wanna have, their motivations—and I’m spitting good. That should be enough for everyone.”
