Ever since apologizing for dissing Kendrick Lamar on his song “7 Minute Drill,” J. Cole has been rather quiet.

But he returned to the scene after jumping on Cash Cobain’s new song “Grippy.”

Both rappers swap raunchy sex bars in the cut, and some are clowning Cole for his lyrics.Ā

“Grippy, I call her that ’cause it’s grippy / She thinkin’ it hip, she a hippie / And she thinkin’ of lips, she gon’ lick me,” are some of the lines that people are dissing.

Meanwhile, others are saying that Cole’s brief back-and-forth with Kendrick has affected his writing ability.

“Bro took the fall off literal,” someone tweeted.

“What did Kendrick do to Cole?” another person asked.

“The side effects of hanging with Drake for too long,” read a third comment.

But are Cole’s lyrics really that bad, or is it just Kendrick’s fans who are up in arms?
