Ice Cube has been in the hot seat since Donald Trump’s senior campaign advisor Katrina Pierson thanked him on Twitter for his input on Trump’s Platinum Plan earlier this month.

The tweet brought to light the N.W.A legend’s behind-the-scenes work with the administration, angering many of his fans but also garnering support from conservative commentator Tomi Lahren, Candace Owens and Pierson who welcomed Cube to the red side.

On October 17, Cube appeared on CNN’s Cuomo Prime Time show in an attempt to clear the air and explained he went to both the Joe Biden and Trump parties with his Contract With Black America initiative (CWBA), but only Trump took him up on the offer. Biden’s campaign allegedly told Cube to wait until after the November 3 election.

But according to Congressman and Biden’s campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond, Cube isn’t telling the truth. Richmond asserted during a recent radio interview with The Joe Madison Show, “Let me be crystal clear. That did not happen.”

Cube appeared to shut that notion down quickly and demanded receipts from Richmond on Tuesday (October 27), writing, “Instead of going back and forth Congressman, please release the Zoom meeting so the world can see what was said by all.”

But Richmond insisted Cube was simply told to flesh out his proposal.

“I like the fact that Ice Cube is getting engaged in policy,” Richmond added. “I think that is a good thing, however, once you embark on getting into it, one, you have to be truthful, but two, you have an obligation, I think, to see it through and to be thorough with it. Our plan is very thorough. I won’t say he has a skeleton plan, but he has an outline of things, he has an outline of things that should be done.

“It’s not as comprehensive as our plan. And so that’s what we told him, and the offer to stay engaged was not, ‘we’ll talk to you after the election.’ It went like this: ‘Here’s my cell number, anything else you want to talk about on this plan or anything you think, you know, we need to talk about further, just pick up the phone and call.”

The Platinum Plan is a proposal that includes prosecuting the Ku Klux Klan and Antifa as terrorist organizations, making Juneteenth a federal holiday and efforts to bolster Black economic prosperity, work Cube is evidently extremely passionate about — and understandably so.

As Cube weathered the seemingly endless barrage of criticism, he let people know he’s willing to work with anybody in power to ensure his CWBA is taken seriously, particularly when it comes to the wealth gap in the United States.

“Black progress is a bipartisan issue,” he explained in tweet. “When we created the Contract With Black America we excepted to talk to both sides of the isle. Talking truth to power is part of the process. I will advise anybody on the planet who has the power to help Black Americans close the enormous wealth gap.”
