New York, NY – Following Tekashi 6ix9ine’s sentencing hearing last December, his attorney Lance Lazzaro predicted he would be out of prison by the end of July.

According to the Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator, Lazzaro was close — the controversial rapper is expected to be released on August 2.

Here's Tekashi 6ix9ine's Prison Release Date

The Dummy Boy artist was originally sentenced to 47 years behind bars for his involvement in the Nine Trey Gangsta Blood gang. But once the Brooklynite agreed to become the government’s star witness in the case against alleged Nine Trey members Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack and Anthony “Harv” Ellison, he wound up with a significantly reduced sentence of 24 months with time served.

Due to the 85 Percent Rule, which means after an offender has served at least 85 percent of their sentence and maintained a good institutional record while behind bars, they can be released for a period of post-release supervision, he’s able to get out even earlier.

Two defendants in the case, Kintea “Kooda B” McKenzie and the aforementioned Ellison, are scheduled to appear before Judge Paul Engelmayer on April 1 where they’ll receive their sentences.

Upon his release, 6ix9ine plans to continue his once lucrative music career, although it’s unclear how that will work considering Hip Hop typically has a strict “no snitching” policy. While in prison, he reportedly signed a record contract with his former label 10K Records worth $10 million.
