The track can be heard on DJ Muggs and Flee Lord’s new collaborative album, Rammellzee.

Just weeks after dropping another stellar solo outing, DJ Muggs is back today with his third album of the year. The Cypress Hill producer has released Rammellzee, a collaborative project with Flee Lord named after one of hip-hop’s earliest multi-hyphenates. It features contributions from Mayhem Lauren, CRIMEAPPLE (who also has a new album out today,) Ghostface Killah and Roc Marciano.

The latter rap royals reunite on one of the project’s standout cuts, “Wallabees & Gucci Loafers.” The fittingly-titled (and footwear-friendly,) track finds the pair of New York rap legends trading lavish bars over a butter-smooth soul loop. And it’s a welcomed, once-in-a-decade-or-so rekindling. Roc and Ghostface previously joined forces on “Black Diamonds” from the 2011 Wu-Tang Clan compilation, Legendary Weapons, and “The Heist,” a hard-hitting highlight from Busta Rhymes‘ 2000 album, Anarchy.

As for DJ Muggs and Flee Lord, the Rammellzee project arrives on the heels of their wildly prodigious respective runs. Muggs was already two albums deep on the year, releasing the darkly cinematic Dies Occidendum earlier this month and the muscular Rome Streetz collabo, Death & The Magician, not long before that. And while Rammellzee may mark Flee Lord’s first 2021 entry, the rapper dropped an album per month last year. Their new joint project was released alongside an extensive line of limited edition merch, including vinyl pressings, tees, and even a Rammellzee action figure. Head over to Soul Assassins to see what’s left of the collection.
