If you need proof that Taylor Swift is the biggest musical star since at least Michael Jackson, she is now in the middle of a Drake-Kendrick Lamar beef she has absolutely nothing to do with.
Even better proof is that her new album, The Tortured Poets Society, is set to do a minimum of 2 million SPS in its opening week, according to HitsDailyDouble.
That makes it a sure bet to become, at minimum, the third biggest opening ever (post-1992 Soundscan era), only trailing the 2.4 million NSYNC put up with No Strings Attached and the 3.4 million of Adele’s 25.
Taylor will soon have seven of the 28 albums that have opened with more than a million in their first week. Nobody else has more than two.
She will also have three of the eight albums to beat 1.5 million in their first seven days.
