Earlier this week, Lil Durk’s latest $4.5 million bond package was deemed insufficient and he will remain in jail
The rejection came shortly after the federal judge in his murder-for-hire case stated that the packages that had been presented were insufficient to ensure Durk’s appearance, but also noted that prosecutors hadn’t presented strong enough evidence to justify keeping him in jail.
So, how much would be enough?
Federal prosecutors are arguing all of it:
“Any set of conditions would need to impoverish Defandant and lead to the forfeiture of all interest in his intellectual propery.”
So basically, the Feds believe that if Durk has any resources, he will use them to intimidate witnesses and leave the country.
His trial for ordering the killing of Quando Rondo — which resulted in the death of Rondo’s cousin Saviay’a Robinson — is set to start on October 14.
Smurk faces life in prison if convicted.
