Thundercat, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Danny Brown and others will also be performing at this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival.

With music festival season making its return this year, Pitchfork has also announced the return of its own music festival. Pitchfork shared the line up for its music festival happening September 10-12 at Chicago’s Union Park, which includes headliners like Erykah Badu, Flying Lotus, and Thundercat.

Jay Electronica, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Danny Brown, KeiyaA, and others will be performing at the festival, too.

Tickets for the festival are available to purchase here. The return of music festivals throughout the country coming this fall lines up with when health experts predicted when concerts would make a comeback following the coronavirus pandemic. Last year, Zeke Emanuel, director of the Healthcare Transformation Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, spoke to the New York Times about restarting the United States in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, and offered his thoughts on the likelihood of large gatherings being safe before the end of 2020.

“Larger gatherings — conferences, concerts, sporting events — when people say they’re going to reschedule this conference or graduation event for October 2020, I have no idea how they think that’s a plausible possibility.” Emanuel said. “I think those things will be the last to return. Realistically we’re talking fall 2021 at the earliest.”

“In Hong Kong, Singapore and other places, we’re seeing resurgences when they open up and allow more activity. It’s going to be this roller coaster, up and down,” he added. “The question is: When it goes up, can we do better testing and contact tracing so that we can focus on particular people and isolate them and not have to reimpose shelter-in-place for everyone as we did before?”

Along with the Pitchfork Music Festival, Governors Ball and Bonnaroo are also returning this fall.
