Mathew David Hughes has been sentenced to 15-30 years in prison for breaking into Eminem’s property twice and threatening to kill him.

At 4 AM on April 6, 2020, 26-year-old Matthew David Hughes got into Shady’s gated community outside of Detroit and then used a paving stone to smash a kitchen window and enter Em’s home.

The alarm didn’t initially wake Em’s security. But it did arise Marshall, who found Hughes in his living room.

Em screamed for his guards, who came running and grabbed Hughes.

Before they arrived, Hughes threatened Eminem’s life.

Hughes was arrested again for being on the rapper’s property on Aug. 8, 2024.

Last month, he was found guilty of first-degree home invasion and aggravated stalking.

He’ll get 15 to 30 years in prison for the home invasion and 3 to 7 1/2 years for stalking, with the sentences being served concurrently

“No one, celebrity or not, should ever feel unsafe in their own home,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido in a statement. “This sentence sends a clear message that stalking and home invasion will be taken seriously in Macomb County and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Everyone has the right to privacy, safety, and peace of mind.”
