Dr. Dre and some of his good “friends” will be performing at this year’s Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl is coming to Los Angeles.

In 2022, the super bowl will be played at SoFi Stadium, the home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. And there will be a special performance.

Dr. Dre has just announced on Twitter that he will be performing the Pepsi Halftime show with some of his “friends.” According to the poster that came along with the tweet, those friends are Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J Blige, and Snoop Dogg.

Soon after everyone else on the poster confirmed the news.

This will, easily, be the biggest Super Bowl performance Roc Nation has ever produced. In 2019, it was announced that Roc Nation was teaming up with the NFL to become the league’s “live music entertainment strategist.” (This move was criticized by some fans because this was move happened during Colin Kaepernick protest.) As part of the deal, Roc Nation has produced the NFL’s Super Bowl halftime shows (the biggest concert of the year.) The first show featured Jennifer Lopez performing with Shakira. While last year’s show had The Weeknd performing a medley of hits.

This is star power to another level. Interestingly enough, none of the artists have much new music to perform. But that will be changing soon. Last month, Kendrick Lamar announced that he was recording his final album for TDE, the label he’s spent his entire career with.

In a statement released on his site, he wrote:

“As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.”

It’s not clear when that album is coming. But hopefully it will be ready by February 2022.
