A$AP Rocky and Playboi Carti previously linked up on “New Choppa” which released in 2017.

On Friday, A$AP Rocky surprise dropped “Our Destiny,” a new track featuring Playboi Carti.

We first peeped the random drop over on Twitter. Rocky also shared an entire video for the song on his Instagram account. The track produced by Evilgiane of Surf Gang isn’t currently available on streaming platforms. The video sees both rappers in dynamic settings: Playboi Carti on stage performing, the duo seemingly traveling together and Rocky alone rapping.

This release isn’t a shock as Rocky is prepping his new album ALL SMILES. We’re assuming the duo filmed a lot of the content for the video at the Longitude Festival in Ireland where they both appeared last month. Though the link up might appear to be random, this isn’t the first time they’ve made a track together. Fans were given “New Choppa” and A$AP Mob’s “Telephone Calls,” “Frat Rules” and “RAF,” all collabs between Rocky and Playboi Carti before this release.

In a previous interview with Complex, here’s what Carti shared on how the two met years back:

“I met Rocky at this houseparty and it was crazy. He told me he fucked with me, bro, and after he said that I was like, I gotta get out here and get my swag up. It was lit. There were a bunch of bitches everywhere. It was life. The life I wanted was in the house, right there.”

If you’ve been keeping tabs on Rocky, this year has been a lot for the rapper. He welcomed a son into the world with Rihanna in May. But, he’s also facing two felony charges in connection with a 2021 shooting. Though he’s pleaded not guilty, a former member of A$AP Mob alleges Rocky shot in his direction.
