Ever since Swizz Beatz and Timbaland announced they partnered with Elon Musk for their Verzuz series, they’ve been called sellouts.

Musk has been accused of racism throughout the years, mostly recently for co-signing a tweet that gave false information about Black people killing White people.

So, many felt that announcing the deal on Juneteenth was super disrespectful.

“On Juneteenth?! Sellout much? 🐂💩,” someone wrote on Instagram after the deal was announced.

“Souls can be purchased and sold,” a second message read.

Swizz later defended himself and Timbo on social media.

“We will show you better than tell you,” he wrote before adding more in the comment section.

“People want to talk with out doing the homework,” the producer continued. “We’re 100% black owned, [if] that’s not enough we own 100% of the IP and company … Trust me that was the last thing we did was sell out … Relax you will understand in 1min.”

Where do you stand on the sell-out claim surrounding Swizz and Timb?
