In 2021, on the red carpet of the BET Awards, Lil’ Kim said that she wanted to face Nicki Minaj in Verzuz.
Many were probably doubtful the battle would happen, but Verzuz co-founder Swizz Beatz suggested that it might.
He was a guest on The Breakfast Club on Wednesday, April 26, and Envy asked him about the potential showdown.
“I can’t say, I can’t say,”Swizz answered. “But just know if you’re going to wait this long for Verzuz, if we gon’ have you wait this long, it’s definitely going to be worth it.”
At this point, Nicki and Kim have been beefing for over a decade. What’s interesting, though, is that Nicki accused Kim of what female rappers today are accusing Nicki of — which is being upset that other female rappers are winning.
“You’re going to go down in history as a sore loser, as opposed to going down in history as the queen,” Nicki said about Kim in 2010 while speaking to Angie Martinez.
And in 2018, at the height of Nicki’s beef with Cardi B, the Bronx rapper had this to say about Nicki in a video:
“You’re out here f*cking up your legacy looking like a f*cking hater.”
