In 2016, Troy Ave and Taxstone got into a shooting fight backstage at a T.I. show at Irving Plaza in New York City

Troy Ave’s bodyguard  Ronald “Banga” McPhatter was killed in the gunfire and the evidence pointed to Taxstone firing the shot that did him in.

Today, seven years later, a New York state jury has convicted Taxstone of first-degree manslaughter, two counts of assault in the first degree, one count of assault in the second degree, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree in the killing of McPhatter

Taxstone was found not guilty of second-degree murder and attempted murder.

Troy Ave proudly testified against Taxstone in the case.

Taxstone had already pleaded guilty to receiving a firearm in interstate commerce with the intent to commit another felony and possessing a firearm as a felony in the incident.

But he tried to fight the murder, manslaughter, and other charges.

He faces up to 25 years when he’s sentenced on April 19
