After the Chicago rapper, Resse P, made headlines with her latest release “Chanel,” the talented Hip Hop artist returns with the all-time Christmas track “Rum Chata.” The song blends Holiday jingles with sizzling Rap rhythms, giving listeners a perfect mix of new and old sounds and preparing them for the upcoming festive season.
Directed by EXQLUSIVE, “Rum Chata” was shot with only two cameramen. Regardless, Resse P transmits that warm and fuzzy feeling onto the screen, thanks to the authentic energy that surrounds the video. Bringing together family and friends, the Chicago native gives people everything they are looking for in a Christmas song.
Speaking of “Rum Chata,” Resse P explains that she came up with the idea one holiday season, “because I love RumChata and eggnog. My producer is extremely creative with his melodies, so when I heard the beat, the melody for “Rum Chata” just rang out. Knowing how big holiday jingles can be, when I got great feedback, I was inspired to keep writing it into what it is today.”
Influenced by popular stars like Nas and Lil Wayne, Resse P developed her storytelling skills listening to their Hip Hop tracks. Being a huge fan of EDM, the rapper would also like to experiment with other genres and styles.
