Sade Adu and her accompanying band are reportedly working on new music since 2010’s Soldier of Love at Miraval Studios in France.

English band Sade are reportedly working on new music according to Billboard. On Friday (October 7) French producer and composer Damien Quintard and actor Brad Pitt were interviewed by the music publication about their co-owned Miraval Studios in Correns, France. The newly reopened recording studio is housed in Château Miraval, a winery and estate that Pitt purchased with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie in 2012. In the article, Quintard revealed that the legendary group had recently recorded new music there.

“You could feel the love that [Sade Adu] and the band had for this place.”

The band released their latest album Solider of Love in 2010, later touring with John Legend to support the LP. In 2011, the band won Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for the album’s titular track. They returned in 2018 with “Flower of the Universe” for the Ava DuVernay-directed film A Wrinkle in Time followed by “The Big Unknown” for Steve McQueen film Widows later that year.

In July, Sade’s longtime sound engineer, mixer and producer Michael Pela died at 72 after a sudden illness.

“It’s hard to imagine a world without Mike, but he’s a vital force within everything we’ve done, and everything to come, and remains really, truly, in our hearts,” the group said in a joint statement. “There’s no other like him, not if we were to look forever. We shared absolute trust. He gave us a safe place so we could be fearless. He came with no ego; soulful, constant, funny, resilient, kind, and brilliant. We’ll try our best to make him proud.”
