DaBaby will no longer perform at Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans on Friday after selling only 500 tickets for a 14,000 capacity stadium.

DaBaby has been canceled yet again. On Tuesday (August 30), Ticketmaster pulled a listing of the rapper’s concert at New Orleans’ Smoothie King Arena on Friday. The page now reads “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.”

Prior to the page being taken down, NOLA.com reported that the North Carolina rapper had measly sales for the New Orleans concert, with only 500 tickets being purchased for the 14,000-capacity arena. By Tuesday, prices for the tickets had been reduced to $35 apiece.

Rapper Euell “7th Ward Shorty” Sylvester and Greg Pulver were promoting the concert through their companies Clear Bizness Entertainment and 70/30. Sylvester was also slated to open the show.

“We’re working on a future date and possibly additional performers,” Pulver said, adding that DaBaby would “most likely” return to the lineup.

When asked why the Friday show was pulled, Pulver said there were “a number of business reasons why we saw best to do that. We decided to postpone and that was in our best interest.”

DaBaby’s problematic behavior has face public scrutiny in recent times. In 2021, the rapper, who’s real name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, was criticized for making homophobic remarks at Rolling Loud Miami festival. In November, Kirk publicized his tumultuous relationship with ex-girlfriend DaniLeigh in multiple Instagram Live streams. In April, Rolling Stone published an in-depth look into Kirk shooting and killing 19-year-old Jaylin Craig at a North Carolina Walmart in 2018. Released surveillance footage rebuts Kirk’s claim that the shooting was in self-defense.

DaBaby’s website shows that he currently has two upcoming concerts in Paris, France and Houston, Texas.
