For the 15th anniversary of his sophomore album Epiphany, T-Pain’s influence over the autotune generation is explained in a new visual.

Yesterday marked the 15th anniversary of T-Pain‘s sophomore album Epiphany. To celebrate his resounding impact over the autotune generation of R&B in the late-2000s, Legacy Recordings, a subdivision of Sony Music Entertainment and SME’s Certified have collaborated to dub T-Pain the ‘Godfather of Autotune.’

With six albums under his belt – including his Grammy-nominated third effort Three Ringz – the Certified visual credits the Florida-bred musician with establishing a transformative sound in popular music.

Two years following the release of his debut album Rapper Ternt Sanga, T-Pain dropped his self-produced sophomore album Epiphany led by singles “Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin’) featuring Yung Joc, “Bartender” featuring Akon and “Church” also featured on the Step Up 2: The Streets soundtrack. Epiphany debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200, selling 171,126 physical copies in it’s first week, with T-Pain going on to collaborate with the likes of Chris Brown (“Kiss Kiss”), Jamie Foxx (“Blame It”), Kanye West (“Good Life”), Flo-Rida (“Low”) and more.

While the musician is in the process of opening his first restaurant, which he announced last month, he’s currently on his Road to Wiscansin Tour with Erica Banks and Young Cash after cancelling shows in 2019 due to low ticket sales. The tour concludes on June 11th with a final festival show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

“I’m looking at this festival from a fan perspective and what would I want to see when I go to a festival,” T-Pain told E News! I’ve hand-picked the artists performing, which are not the usual artists you see on all these other festivals lineups. I wanted to switch things up.”
