The rapper’s “Fryday Kush” strain is not for novice smokers.

Ice Cube has fundamentally redefined “rapper weed” with his debut in the legal cannabis market, launching a strain that is nearly twice as potent as flowers already considered to be strong.

Earlier this week, the Compton rap icon partnered with Caviar Gold to introduce his “Fryday Kush” strain at licensed retailers. According to CG, the rapper was intimately involved in developing the strain, which boasts a whopping 46.2% THC and 10.78% CBD content. For reference, the average strength of premium cannabis flower floats between 20% and 25%, which makes “Fryday Kush” almost exclusively for those with a high tolerance. Novice smokers need not apply. “Fryday Kush” is currently available to purchase at dispensaries in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Oklahoma, though you can expect it to land in other parts of the country down the line.

With his strain, Cube joins some of rap’s royalty in the legal cannabis trade. Last year, Freddie Gibbs tapped in with his “Alfredo OG” line, while JAY-Z founded a whole company dedicated to top-shelf smoke and is currently investing millions into minority-owned cannabis start-ups through his role in The Parent Company. Other rappers are finding less conventional ways to participate in the green rush. Raekwon has thrown a considerable amount of money into CitizenGrown, a company that is developing proprietary at-home hydroponic grow boxes, intending to send users kits and compensate them to cultivate cannabis from the comforts of their couchlock

You can read Ice Cube’s announcement of “Fryday Kush” below. Head over to Caviar Gold to find a dispensary stocking the strain.
