Jeremih’s battle with COVID-19 appears to be over. According to TMZ. the Chicago-bred singer was released from the hospital on Saturday (December 6) and is resting comfortably at home. He’d spent the last few weeks in the intensive care unit of a Chicago area hospital battling the coronavirus and, at one point, was believed to be in critical condition.

“First and foremost, I would like to thank God and the incredible team of doctors and nurses at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for saving my life,” he told the outlet. “I will be forever grateful. I would also like to thank my family and friends for all their prayers and well wishes. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude.

“A special thanks to Chance The Rapper, 50 Cent and Diddy for their love and support. I would like to thank all my fans and people around the world who prayed for me. I’m getting stronger everyday, and look forward to spending time with my sons.”

Fellow Chicagoan Chance The Rapper was among the first to give fans the good news of Jeremih coming home, just a week after he was removed off of a ventilator and moved from ICU.

“I AM FILLED WITH PRAISE RIGHT NOW I JUST HEARD MY BROTHER JEREMIH’S VOICE ON THE PHONE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ALMOST A MONTH!” he wrote on Thursday (December 3). “HE WILL BE OUT THE HOSPITAL TOMORROW WE GIVE ALL GLORY TO THE FATHER IN JESUS NAME.”

Jeremih joins a list of Hip Hop figures who have tested positive and later beat COVID-19 including Scarface, Slim Thug, Tokyo Jetz and Doja Cat.

After the singer’s battle with COVID-19 was publicly revealed on November 14, peers such as 50 Cent, Chance, Hitmaka and more called for prayers. In fact, it was 50 who revealed the serious nature of the “Birthday Sex” singer’s fight with the coronavirus, saying “this COVID shit is real.”

To date, there have been over 14 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the United States and over 279,000 deaths, including New York rapper Fred The Godson, New Orleans’ DJ Black N Mild and Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. legend Gangxta Ridd.
