As promised, Black Thought has delivered “Good Morning” featuring Pusha T, Killer Mike, Swizz Beatz and production from Sean C.

The single comes from The Roots’ frontman’s forthcoming project Streams of Thought Vol. 3: Cane & Abel and finds Thought spitting ferocious lines such as “Vile temperament, you start shit, we endin’ it/It’s my last wishes, gas mask kisses/The thin line between savants and savages/Your life could depend on the laws of average/The difference between black and white is mad privilege.”

Meanwhile, Pusha T comes in with, “Drug dealer tastes, I think I glow in the dark/I only do features to keep hitting my mark,” while Killer Mike comes in with the clincher, “Before we ever sold cocaine, we civilized Spain/You are not the first black man in the Mediterranean/Shit you lying to impress, you was just the same/I look at you with the disdain of an old shit stain.”

Black Thought has a little somethin’ somethin’ on the way to appease his thirsty fans until Streams Of Thought Vol. 3: Cane & Abel arrives.

On Thursday (August 27), The Roots frontman announced he’d linked up with Pusha T, Killer Mike, Swizz Beatz and Sean C for a new single called “Good Morning.”

Along with a 20-second teaser of the song, Thought revealed the track would arrive on Friday (August 28), writing, “Me. @KillerMike. @PUSHA_T. @THEREALSWIZZZ. @itsSeanC. Friday.”

“Good Morning” lives on Thought’s aforementioned album alongside 12 other tracks, which include guests such as ScHoolboy Q, indie rock band Portugal. The Man and CS Armstrong.

The project serves as the follow-up to 2018’s Streams of Thought Vol. 1, a nine-track effort produced entirely by Salaam Remi. Its predecessor, Streams Of Thought Vol. 1, was released that same year in May and boasted production from 9th Wonder and the Soul Council as well as special guests Rapsody, Styles P and KIRBY.

Streams of Thought Vol. 3 was originally scheduled to drop on July 31 but was pushed back. No new release date has been announced (yet).
