Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, multi-instrumentalist, producer and artist Namir Blade started experimenting with sounds at the age of six. Throughout middle school and his time at the Nashville School of the Arts, he further developed and refined his talents until the road ultimately led him to Mello Music Group.

Ahead of Namir’s MMG debut Aphelion’s Traveling Circus, he’s dropped off the first single from the project called “The Head,” a captivating three-part journey into Namir’s creative mind and world.

Also a big thank you for letting me use the beat. Thank you to @callamcginty for capturing some bts footage and being a general helping hand. Thank you to @aperturevisuals for helping to make the music I make come to life. Most of all thank you to all those who listen to and support me.

Namir’s entirely self- produced stylings are often self-reflective, innovative, organic and almost sporadic at times, as if he’s giving the listener a window to look into the mind of a modern Afro-American.

“For as long as I can remember, I’ve thought about the quote from Shakespeare’s pastoral comedy As You Like It,” he tells HipHopDX. “The melancholy Jaques stated the world is a stage, and went on to compare the moments in human life, to several acts. I’ve often thought of my life as a Circus, complete with several acts, interludes and intermissions.”

Aphelion’s Traveling Circus is expected to arrive via MMG on September 18. Until then, pre-order the album here and check out “The Head” below.
