Los Angeles, CA – Cardi B and Fashion Nova will donate $1,000 to one person every hour for the next 42 days. The Bronx-bred star and the online fashion brand teamed up for the Fashion Nova Cares with Cardi B initiative, which will end up sending out $1,000,000 through May 20.

“I’ve been getting a lot of DMs of people in need and me and Fashion Nova came up with a way that we are going to give out $1,000 an hour for the next 42 days,” Cardi announced on Instagram. “You know, sometimes you give to charity and wonder like, ‘Hmm, is it really going to the people?’ Well, we’re going to make sure it’s going to the people.”

Throughout the campaign, Fashion Nova will select 24 people daily to receive $1,000 checks. To qualify, users just need to visit the Fashion Nova Cares website and enter their email address, phone number and personal story. Cardi also mentioned that candidates should have a public Instagram account.

“Make sure your Instagram is open ‘cause I’m gonna make sure that you really do need it. Don’t be lying so you can lend your fucking boyfriend some money!” she said, before breaking into the late Bill Withers‘ “Lean On Me.” “Don’t be shy, sometimes you gotta muthafuckin’ ask for help.”

“We all feel compassion and concern for those affected by the Coronavirus,” Fashion Nova CEO/Founder Richard Saghian added in a press release. “Fashion Nova Cares with Cardi B will provide people with necessary relief to help them get through this crisis. As a community-driven brand, we are inspired by the kindness and generosity of others and we wanted to do our part to help those in need.”
