The Griselda rapper announces his debut studio album with Interscope/Shady Records.
Westside Gunn is closing out the year with a major label debut.
Last night, the Buffalo rapper took to Instagram to announce a new album, Who Made The Sunshine, will arrive this Friday, October 2nd. And the whole Griselda crew is on board for the outing. According to the tracklist (shared with cover art designed by the rapper’s seven-year-old daughter, Pootie,) Gunn will be joined by Boldy James, Armani Caesar, Benny The Butcher, and Conway The Machine, as well as rap royals, Slick Rick, Black Thought, and Busta Rhymes. Production on Who Made The Sunshine is handled by longtime collaborators, Alchemist, Daringer, Beat Butcha, Just Blaze, and more.
Who Made The Sunshine follows a pair of 2020 projects from Gunn, who dropped Pray For Paris at the top of the year and blessed a dark summer with a Flygod is an Awesome God sequel. With the release of his new album on Friday, Griselda’s 2020 output will tick up to 10 projects on the year, following equally potent runs from Conway, Boldy, Benny, and Armani. And we’re only just getting to the fourth quarter.
