The 2022 BET Awards featured performances from Lizzo, Latto, Kirk Franklin, Chance the Rapper, and a special tribute from Diddy.

The BET Awards is one of the biggest music related awards shows of the year. And this year, the awards show went all out. While everyone loves to see artists win awards, we watch these awards for the performances. And this year, BET had a stacked lineup.

The 2022 BET Awards took place in Los Angeles, live from the Microsoft Theater. The host was Taraji P. Henson. The show featured performances from Lizzo (who opened the show) Kirk Franklin, Latto, Chance the Rapper. However, the most exciting performance of the night came from Diddy, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award. (Per BET, the Lifetime Achievement Award is given to industry recipients who “have not only significantly shaped culture through their extensive careers, but who have also been transformative leaders that consistently inspire generations by setting a true standard of excellence.”)

Diddy’s performance feature appearances from Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, Lil’ Kim, Busta Rhymes, The Lox, Bryson Tiller, Faith Evans, and more. There was also a special tribute to ex-lover Kim Porter, who died of pneumonia back in 2019.
