On Thursday, Wale shared the drop date of his next album, Folarin 2. It’s arriving ahead of the 10-year anniversary of Ambition.

Wale’s upcoming album Folarin 2 has gotten an official drop date.

A few months back, the D.C. rapper shared via Twitter that the album was in the works. He previously tweeted, “#Folarin2 this summer.” Obviously, that release was scrapped as the newest date that we can confirm is October 22, 2021.

This year has been an interesting one for the D.C. rapper. He’s been unveiling summer-ready tracks including “Angles” and “Down South” featuring Yella Beezy and Maxo Kream. The Chris Brown-assisted song has an air of summer throughout it. “Down South” is more upbeat and it’s produced by Harry Fraud. Earlier this year he released “Good Vibes (Za)” and that was undeniably a song ideal for throwing on summer playlists.

On Thursday, Wale also dropped “Poke It Out” with J. Cole. He shared a teaser by posting an image of himself and the Fayetteville rapper pointing to the release.

The bass sample that’s utilized in Q-Tip’s “Vivrant Thing” gets a revamp on the collaborative track. It feels like 2010 again when both these rappers were reigning underground champs.

Folarin 2  is arriving ahead of the ten-year anniversary of Wale’s album Ambition. The 17-track album was a pivotal moment for him as he was stepping further into his lane as a signed artist. Who could forget “That Way” equipped with features from Jeremih and Rick Ross? Also, “Lotus Flower Bomb” with Miguel was another well-received single from this release. More highlights from Ambition included “Slight Work,” “White Linen (Coolin)” and “Illest Bitch.”

In 2019, Wale dropped Wow… That’s Crazy with a heavy lineup of features from Ari Lennox, Westside Boogie, Bryson Tiller, Rick Ross, Jeremih, and more. We’re hoping Folarin 2 has older elements of Wale’s artistry that led to his mainstream success years ago.
