Tyler The Creator’s Chromakopia album will drop on October 28.

A Monday.

The nontraditional release date will hurt Tyler on the charts, but he doesn’t care. He thinks he gives the listener a better experience by dropping it at the beginning of the week instead of late Thursday night.

I know people think because of the weekend you can listen to stuff and streams go up … but I think it’s a lot of passive listening at parties or people go to the gym, so they are not really listening …  If you put it out during the week, man that commute to work or school, you really have that hour or thirty minutes to really ‘dive in’ and really listen,” he explained.
