New York, NY – Tekashi 6ix9ine was sentenced in his racketeering case in December 2019.

The embattled Brooklyn rapper was given an additional 24 months in prison (added to the 13 months he’d already served), a far cry from the 47 years he was originally facing. But because of his cooperation with the federal government, resuming his previous life will undoubtedly be a challenge.

According to TMZ, 6ix9ine is already plotting his exit. He reportedly plans to flee New York as soon as he’s released. Sources close to the Dummy artist say he wants to get as far away from his hometown as possible and is intent on setting up a residence with “Fort Knox-like security.”

However, 6ix9ine received five years supervised release as part of his sentence and will need permission from the federal probation department to move out of state first.

6ix9ine is reportedly committed to resuming his rap career but putting security measures in place is his top priority.

He allegedly wants to avoid security guards with any type of gang affiliation and instead, hire former law enforcement officers or ex-military who are licensed to carry firearms — which will also be tough. Several of his former security guards said no amount of money is worth protecting him.

While 6ix9ine still has several months to go on his sentence, it’s unclear when exactly he’s getting out. The 85 Percent Rule could mean he’s out as early as July, but that remains to be seen.

6ix9ine was arrested in November 2018 alongside former manager Kifano “Shotti” Jordan.

Spotify has enlisted longtime radio host Angie Martinez to narrate Welcome To Infamous: The Tekashi 6ix9ine Story, a podcast that goes into acute detail about his life.
