Styles P has questions about who’s receiving the money donated to Black Lives Matter. The LOX member wondered about the organization’s funds in multiple Twitter posts on Thursday (June 11).

“Where is the money being donated going ?” he wrote. “Who is the treasurer of blm ? Do they have leaders in every city they contact ? Is it a board ? and where are the headquarters located?”

Styles also appeared to reference conspiracy theories about billionaire George Soros.

“How can one person fund blm and antifa,” he commented. “shit ain’t right !!!”

BLM was co-founded by Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi in 2013. The organization has chapters in Boston, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Los Angeles, Lansing, Long Beach, Memphis, Nashville, New York, Philadelphia, South Bend and Washington, D.C. in the United States.

Toronto, Vancouver and Waterloo also have chapters in Canada.

On BLM’s website, donations are said to fund the “ongoing fight to end state-sanctioned violence, liberate Black people and end white supremacy forever.” The donate page uses ActBlue Charities, a nonprofit online fundraising platform for Democratic candidates, progressive organizations and other nonprofits.

“ActBlue is not run by the official Democratic Party or any other organization,” the platform says on its site. “We are a mission-based organization, which is why only Democrats (not Republicans) can use our tools to fundraise. We are an independent nonprofit with an executive board.”

According to ActBlue, there is a 3.95 percent processing fee on all transacations. This would apply for any donation to BLM.
