The Cardi B and Offset McDonald’s meal features a cheeseburger, a Quarter Pounder with cheese, large fries, Apple Pie, a large Hi-C Orange Lavaburst, a large Coca-Cola, and a side of BBQ sauce.

It launched on Valentine’s Day and has been featured prominently in McDonald’s advertising.

However, not all franchises are on board.

According to The Wall Street Journal, multiple franchise owners have boycotted the meal deal, arguing the sex and violence Bardi and Set glamorize don’t fit with their values.  In fact, they claim that the meal deal violates the Arches Code, which prohibits  “musical partnerships associated with content that includes offensive language in the lyrics.”

It’s not the first time the franchises have pushed back on a meal deal.  About 65 percent refused to serve the Travis Scott deal that launched in 2020

Despite the backlash, McDonald’s plans to continue with celebrity meal deals.
